Tis the season... - Nov 30th, 2004

To get loaded up on holiday food and in my case, expect disappointment. But depite the seasonal depression that always seems to find its way to my doorstep, I'm really excited about Christmas this year. I don't even care about the presents. I've had a ball these past two days decorating my house for Santa Claus. I even got my first christmas tree. It took me about 5 minutes to find it, less than 3 minutes to cut it down, and 10 minutes to figure out how it was going to fit into my car to haul it back to Columbus. Last year I didn't even have a x-mas tree and the first year I moved to C-town I made one out of green construction paper and taped it to my bedroom wall. Depressing...I know.

I'm excited about wrapping presents, sending out x-mas cards, snow, holiday music. Not excited about shopping but glad that I can afford a little bit better presents. I might even try my hand at making x-mas cookies!! I think its the x-mas tree doing it for me. Having one in my own place decorated with all the tinsel and ornaments from my childhood makes me feel more like I'm at home with my family. Bring it on depression...lets see if I can kick your ass this year!!
