Nervous Knots - April 13th

Day Two:

Last night's performance went better than the dress rehearsal on Monday. We did a benefit night for the mentally and physically handicapped as well as the hearing impaired. It was more or less our final full dress rehearsal. For the most part, things went well. Viva Vegas was screwed up. Faulty costume changes, people not getting back on stage, people doing wrong choreography. Miss Otis went ridiculously slooow. So slow that it threw every else off which in turn threw me off. I'm just uspet that I know what I'm supposed to be doing and those who don't look off me and end up messing up anyways and get in my way and end up making me and the number look bad. Its not that hard to count people! Do it and you'll nail the number! They better have their act together because I don't want to be the only one out there who sticks out because I actually know what I'm doing.

The old lady number, Pick yourself up, by far got the biggest reaction from the audience. They all started clapping when all of us "old ladies" starting inching on the stage with our walker. They screamed and laughed. It was hard to keep my old lady face on and not crack up.

We have our Senior citizen night tonight..which could be bad for the old lady number. I hope the old people won't get offended. Tomorrow is offically "Opening Night" so those who don't know Otis or the Finale better learn before tomorrow. And they better have it for Friday and Saturday when everybody in my life will see me.

I'm not as tired as I was yesterday. But I'm sure after tonight I will be. I'll hit the wall sooner or later.
